Re the door lock: If the door ajar warning works ok on that door, and the car double locks ok (ignoring that door), then it sounds like either the locking motor has failed, or the connections or drive circuit to it have a problem. Or, if it is anything like the Focus, each door module has it own fuse, so it could just be that.
I have a mondeo 2010 titanium X which has keyless entry and start and seems to have a strange problem with the lock/alarm. When I return to the locked car and open the boot using the handle on the boot it unlocks and opens as you would expect, but if my wife then try's to open the rear passenger side door whilst I have the boot open the door unlocks and opens but the alarm goes off.

So easy to put this in the manual so why not do it. It is the switch on the drivers door that controls the child locks, as stated its the same switch that disable the rear elec window. It's located on the switches around the electric mirror controls, when you press it you will hear a clunk.

Check connections on FP lock see if there is any current getting to the actuator, If its not the FP lock its the main lock actuator FD on the drivers door that usually controls the activation of the other door locks. Its a common fault on pre 2004 mondeo's ,mine only worked in warm weather Sometimes it could be fixed by removing a plastic plug at rear of door and adjusting screw inside. Often door handle needed to be removed by unscrewing the same screw and a small packer needed bonded to tab on handle to close gap. This was a common problem with the MK3 so perhaps your MK4 is a different design. Peter.
Mondeo 2010. the doors work properly except for the rear nearside. The levers go in and out normally on the other doors but on the rear ns it only moves slightly and sometimes the door will not unlock or lock (unless I click the lever). I would prefer not to get a big bill and have put WD40 on
The drivers door recently sporadically kept "unlocking" whilst driving, I disconnected and reconnected the cables between the door and the body of the car and that problem stopped. This also resolved a problem I had with getting the front driver side window to close, sometimes I had to open the door and close it to get the close button to take
Just bought a 1997 Mondeo Ghia 1.8 TD estate. The remote fob or the key in the drivers door lock results in a lock/unlock cycle but using the key in the passenger door opens/locks all the other doors For a couple of years had an occasional problem where there was no ignition at all when the car was warm, usually from the SUN at first.

This would only happen every other time you rocked the car, however as the problem became more common I noticed the rear passenger door not actually locking. Since then I have had to manually lock the door, however on occasions it does open with the main central locking when activated by the key.
Good feedback. Thanks all. I've got a battery door key lock de-icer tool with a heated element that I used today. By putting this heated element in the crack of the door top and moving it along, it freed up the door and it opened. So shows it must be frozen. It took ages, but it worked. The key fob operates the latch inside the car and I can hear the door unlocking / locking when pressing the fob but no luck when opening. I have tried all sorts while pressing the button but no luck.

Boot switch and interior button is usually the boot handle fault, As long as the locking works fine in every other way. If you have othe locking issues it can be the drivers door lock module.
