I bought a Vivoactive 3 last November and at first battery life was acceptable at about 5 days with a bit of GPS use and notification on. However after christmas battery life was reducing until eventually is was about a day even with bluetooth turned off and hardly any GPS use. Vivoactive 3 - GPS drains battery quickly. I have found several battery drain threads, but I haven't anything exactly with my issues. I can get about 4 - 5 days of battery life with normal use based on my setting, but if I use the GPS it drains significantly with one weird attribute. Case in point, yesterday I played golf for 3.5 hour and the Could some kind sould explain how I show my current HR on a watch face? It isn't an option in the customization section. I can do pretty much everything else - there are three or for ways to show the battery life, for goodness sake - so I am sure I am missing something. I love my VA 3. One of its major benefits has been the long battery life, often lasting upto a week between charges. After the latest software update the battery life dropped to less than a day. I was able to solve the problem by reseting the watch to factory defaults, re-adding it to the Garmin Connect application and resynching it.

The official specs only says 5 hours with GPS and music, nothing about just GPS with no music. My Vivoactive HR did last almost the claimed 13 hours with GPS (depending on outside temperature and type of activity). My Vivoactive 3 Music is much more unreliable when it comes to battery life, both standby and during activities. Guess what? After the run, it went right back to the same old rapid battery drain issue and died within a day. What a joke! This is so obviously a software issue. The battery is clearly fine in both watches but something happens after doing an activity or playing music that causes the rapid drain after the activity is over. I'm in a bad spot here.
